So, it’s my birthday. I’m 46 today. And for another 364 days. Plus one hour, since Daylight Savings Time switchover is today. Thanks, Ben Franklin!
Kathy and I plus some of my normal Friday night dinner buddies (now with 100 percent more Tom and Trish Hutchison) whooped it up at the Golden Corral. I noted that it was the perfect place, as the Golden Corral in Elyria used to be a church. And… yup, I got sung at. It was fun.
I’m going to celebrate my birthday with a two-liter of Diet Mountain Dew. That’s the first time I’ve violated my “do not buy pop for easy home access” rule I instituted last week, and have stuck to. I’m also one to consider resolutions for the following year on this day, instead of New Year’s day, as is custom here in the States.
I’m looking forward to celebrating tonight with a dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube (wings!) and watching the Argentinian cut of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, with 25 more minutes of the film included and the original soundtrack restored. This is on TCM at 8 pm Eastern. The story of this cut of film is on the TCM website, btw.
My Facebook wall has over 50 birthday wishes so far. Ain’t that cool? Technology rocks.
Contemplating doing an impromptu podcast tonight to celebrate. If I do, I’ll post it on Twitter (Leuszler) and on Facebook (Mike Leuszler).
I will be hosting another episode of my non-award winning podcast, Open Mike, Insert Foot tomorrow, Monday, October 25 at 2 pm. The subjects may include Halloween and bad work habbits. It’s always more fun when people call in, though. Go to the show page at Talkshoe.com to find out more.
I will be at the Avon Lake library Saturday, October 23, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, teaching my world famous Monster Drawing class. It’s a “how to draw” class using classic movie monsters. How cool, right?
It is free to participate and geared toward 5th graders and up.
