Another Year Older

So, it’s my birthday. I’m 46 today. And for another 364 days. Plus one hour, since Daylight Savings Time switchover is today. Thanks, Ben Franklin!

Kathy and I plus some of my normal Friday night dinner buddies (now with 100 percent more Tom and Trish Hutchison) whooped it up at the Golden Corral. I noted that it was the perfect place, as the Golden Corral in Elyria used to be a church. And… yup, I got sung at. It was fun.

I’m going to celebrate my birthday with a two-liter of Diet Mountain Dew. That’s the first time I’ve violated my “do not buy pop for easy home access” rule I instituted last week, and have stuck to. I’m also one to consider resolutions for the following year on this day, instead of New Year’s day, as is custom here in the States.

I’m looking forward to celebrating tonight with a dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube (wings!) and watching the Argentinian cut of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, with 25 more minutes of the film included and the original soundtrack restored. This is on TCM at 8 pm Eastern. The story of this cut of film is on the TCM website, btw.

My Facebook wall has over 50 birthday wishes so far. Ain’t that cool? Technology rocks.

Contemplating doing an impromptu podcast tonight to celebrate. If I do, I’ll post it on Twitter (Leuszler) and on Facebook (Mike Leuszler).

Thanks for stopping by.

Formspring, I Haz It

Formspring.me is a web widget that allows anyone to ask you a question. You don’t have to answer it, but it’s still interesting to see what comes in.

Mike Esposito, R.I.P.

Mike Esposito was one of the best inkers Ross Andru ever had. My primary experience with the Andru/Esposito team was their run on Amazing Spider-Man in the late 60’s, early 70’s.

Here’s what comics writer and blogger Mark Evanier has to say about the man.

Episode 172 Open Mike, Insert Foot Live Recording Info

I will be hosting another episode of my non-award winning podcast, Open Mike, Insert Foot tomorrow, Monday, October 25 at 2 pm. The subjects may include Halloween and bad work habbits. It’s always more fun when people call in, though. Go to the show page at Talkshoe.com to find out more.

Hope to see you there.

October 22 Updates

So what’s new?

  • There is a new logo banner (which has a special skull-laden Halloween variant when you change pages or refresh!)
  • The background yellow is much better and less dull, I think.
  • The Commission Price Page has been updated with lower base prices, and some other great changes that will benefit the buyer, including changes in rights ownership. Go read.
  • The navigation bar has been updated and beautified. Oooh la la.
  • And many other itty bitty changes, too numerous to mention.

Comic Book Sales on Bonanzle

I am in the process of getting rid of my comics and graphic novels. I am using Bonanzle.com to do this. Here’s a widget showing what is currently in the booth:
