Bad summer. Baaaaad summer.
Then again, I’m still alive. That’s a positive. I survived another Milan Melon Festival. Wish I had made more money, but, hey, I did all right. Yay for adequate.
It seems that spending about two weeks in the hospital having a minor appendage removed, suffering congestive heart failure, and nearly accidentally overdosing on prescriptions doesn’t allow you to go to work. Even if you love your job, which I do.
My health adventures basically wiped out most of my potential summer income, which has led me to come up with ideas for a new business model that doesn’t rely on me sitting in a tent for 13 hours at a time drawing caricatures or teaching a class at your local library.
Nothing has been finalized, but it will soon, as I need some big time cash to pay the nice medical people.
Right now, though, I’m willing to book some one-day shows for the end of September through Thanksgiving, if anyone has any suggestions. Maybe even some two-day shows.
I’m also doing caricatures at parties and other events. Ask about my rates.
I am also getting ready to do more Wogglebug art for author Cynthia Hanson. More on that when it becomes available.
Right now, my big project is preparing for my family reunion down in Rock Cave, W. Va. I expect I will be doing caricatures there, and will be doing some artwork ahead of that to take down. I may pop into Hometown Market for part of the Friday the 13th to dazzle the locals.
Hey, that’s it. I need a nap. Thanks for stopping by.
