Custom Caricatures and Artwork Commissions Make for Great Gifts
Looking for a great gift for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, Father’s or Mother’s day, holiday gift giving, recognition, graduations, gag gift giving, etc? Caricatures even work well in some types of business branding, on your MySpace, Facebook, etc. and in many other places. Caricatures are perfect for almost any event or occasion. In addition, I can do drawings of your favorite movie, game, comics or other media characters. I can also do more realistic renderings of people and pets. Just let me know. Most of the artwork I do is also very easy to frame yourself. They are drawn to sizes that allow you to go to your favorite art store or framing shop to pick up pre-cut mattes and frames, saving you a bunch of money on the final cost of the gift.

All Commissions are done on 11″ x 14″ Bristol Board (Professional illustration paper). Black and White (Pen and ink) works are $50 dollars each.

Color works (either digital or hand-colored works) are $100.

Vehicles, Firearms, and Other Major Props = +50%
Simple Background (doesn’t fill page OR very little detail) = +50%
Reg Background (fills page, simple-avg detail) = +100%
Complex Background (lots of detail, complex perspective) = +200%
Additional Prints of Digital Works =+25 % each
Customers are expected to pay 1/2 of the total up front. Your item will be shipped when the second half of the cost and shipping costs are paid. The second half of the payment and shipping costs should be paid immediately upon notification of completion of the work.
These prices do not include shipping. Shipping will be calculated upon completion of the work and will be paid with the final payment.
Reproduction rights, reprint rights, and any other rights besides the right to display this work privately are not included with a commission. Contact me if you intend to use the work for commercial use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I order a caricature or custom piece of artwork?
A: Contact me via email with a description of what you’d like. I will send you a price quote, without shipping costs. At that point, you can send me 1/2 of the cost to get the work started. You will receive a notice when the work is done, along with the final total, including shipping. Your work will be shipped upon completion of payment.
Q: What kind of photos are you talking about?
A: I will need photos (or reference) of the subject. At least one from the front, shoulders up. I prefer at least three different, recent photos. I may also require reference photos if you want your subject to be placed in a certain situation or with a certain prop or in a certain setting.
Q: How long does it take?
A: I ask for three weeks turnaround time from receiving photos and payment, to getting the work in the mail. Turnaround may be longer when we get closer to certain holiday gift-giving seasons. I will let you know when I send you a price quote. Also, bigger projects may require more time, which we will discuss ahead of time. And remember, I’m not responsible for the Postal Service, but if you need something sooner than three weeks plus mailing, I may charge a rush fee, which will be included with your price quote.
Q: Can I have the subject doing (fill in the blank) or wearing (fill in the blank)? Can I get a work done that isn’t so cartoony?
A: Yes. Contact me with your ideas. I’ve done homage to Peanuts, Nascar, Star Wars, Dr. Stangelove, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and more.
Q: Can you do pets?
A: Yes.
Q: What media do you work in?
A: Usually I start with a pen and ink rendering, and then color the work with prismacolor art markers, color pencils, oil pastels or whatever else may be lying about. Or in the case of black and whites, I will add appropriate tones and textures to make the work pop! Or I can do your work digitally.
